What is the best menstrual cup for you?
Don't forget that you can check our post on how to choose your menstrual cup size on our blog.
The choice of the cup size depends on your age and whether you have given birth or not. As a woman gets older, the muscles of her vagina lose smoothness.
We have 3 different sizes of our menstrual cup. Here we explain what is the best menstrual cup for every case:
- - S : For girls under 18 who have not had sex.
- - M: For women under 30 who have not had a vaginal birth.
- - L: For women who have had vaginal birth or older than 30.
If you are 30 years old, we recommend that you choose size L since, with the appropriate care, it will last for the next 10 years.
Every month, before your menstrual cycle starts, it is essential to sterilize the cup in boiling water. It is enough to place your menstrual cup in boiling water for 3 minutes. Do not leave it any longer as it could burn or deteriorate easily. You don't need a specific container, any saucepan will do. Keep in mind that the cup must already be clean when you put it in the saucepan. You will only sterilize it, so there should be no remains of menstruation in the saucepan.
During your menstruation, every time you empty your cup, it is enough to rinse it with cold water. Keep in mind that the air-holes in the top of the cup have to be perfectly clean. You can fill the cup up with water and press it against the palm of your hand so that the holes are unobstructed.
They work similarly to normal pads but they are made with ecological cotton without any dyes or chemicals touching your body. You can wash them after every use and reuse them for up to 3 years.
We have 3 levels of absorbency:
- - Pantyliners: for light flow
- - Day: for moderate flow
- - Night: for abundant flow
That's up to you and your needs. You can start with 1 or 2 of each level and see which one you find most useful. You can use 1 several times during your menstruation since you can wash it and dry it overnight.
